Google Assistant says okay to my command…but doesn’t actually do it…

I have lights in my bedroom and when I say “hey google turn on/off the bedroom lights” it responds “okay turning on/off the bedroom lights” and nothing happens…I can ask ten times in a row and nothing happens. It works for all other rooms which all have the same exact bulbs and are linked via the same app. If I manually hit the bedroom lights button in the google home app…it works…it’s just the voice command that doesn’t work…I can voice command the individual lights…but not the room as a whole…makes no sense…

Hi willjauregui,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community.

This is not the experience that we wanted you to have, let me help you out. A few things: Is it working before or this is the first time that you are trying this feature via voice command? How many lights are in the bedroom and what are their names?

You can create another room, then move your lights there, then observe if you are able to control it using voice commands. Check the steps below on how to move devices from one room to another.

Move device from one Room to another

  1. Within the ROOMS tab, you will see a list of rooms and their assigned Home Automation devices.
  2. Tap the room name you’d like to delete.
  3. Choose the device you’d like to move, tap Move.
  4. Tap the radio button next to the room you’d like to move it to.
    1. To add a room that’s not listed, scroll down and tap + Custom Room.
    2. Type in name of room, tap OK.
  5. Tap Done.
  6. You’ll see the device is no longer listed in the room you moved it from.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

Juni
