Google Audio devices and Mesh not connecting.

I have a google mesh Wi-Fi, and I am trying to add google home max, google nest audio and google nest mini to the network. It recognizes them, however, when I try to connect them, it says "This device was manufactured for a different country, and may not be compatible with your Wi-Fi network" and gives me 2 options, Cancel and Proceed. I choose proceed, then ask me for the room, the network to connect and when try to connect the device to the network, it says "Connect to same Wi-Fi - Your device was setup successfully but can't be found. Make sure your mobile device and device are on the same Wi-Fi network. Turn off AP isolation. If AP isolation is enable on your Wi-Fi router, you will need to disable it."

Hiya!

Since the device was manufactured in a different country it could cause compatibility issues. To disable AP Isolation disable it in your main router settings this can cause issues with communication between devices. This setting prevents wireless devices on the network to communicate with each other and all google nest devices talk with eachother. To disable the setting check with your internet provider's routers documentation!

I hope this helps and you are able to connect 🙂

Thank you for the answer. I have the ISP's router connected and from there I have everything else connected to the network. I've been searching online on how to disable AP Isolation on that router and haven't find anything, so, I have 2 SRX but haven't configure them yet, so, I am planning on taking the ISP's router off and replace it with the firewalls, and make them do the routing work. However, I haven't have time enough to sit and do the proper configuration. I will keep posted as soon as I do it!

Hi everyone,

emanuel_badilla, thanks for visiting the Google Nest Community. Do you have a guest Wi-Fi network set on your Google Wifi mesh? If yes, try to turn off the network in the meantime and connect your Google Nest devices to the main network. Let me know how it goes.

We appreciate the help, code_!

Regards,
Alex

No Guest Wifi set, only my main one, I will try removing the ISP's router and replace it with a couple of Juniper SRX. As soon as I have the chance to do the configuration, I will do that and try. I will keep you posted. Thank you for your reply!

Hi @emanuel_badilla,

Sounds good! It's a good idea to isolate the issue by temporarily removing the ISP's router. Replacing it with the Juniper SRX units will help determine if the guest WiFi functionality is related to your ISP's router or your own network setup.

on the other hand You can call our customer service line for further assistance.

Take your time with the configuration, and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions about setting up the guest WiFi on the SRX once you get to it. I'm happy to help in any way I can.

Good luck! I look forward to hearing your results.

Regards,

Mario.

Something weird happened, I was working on my home lab and while I was waiting uploading some files, I decided to try one more time. But this time I leave the "share with google the info" or whatever it says, and then suddenly everything connected fine... No other change than that!
