Google Audio only responds on second command

The issue I’m facing is the same as this thread but it has been closed while unresolved so I’m still seeking solutions to this.
Basically, my Google Nest recognizes my voice when I say “Hey Google.” The lights light up and everything to signal that. But it won’t respond to any commands until the lights fade and I prompt “Hey Google” the second time, then it’ll work as normal.

I’ve hard reset it and changed the responsiveness sensitivity but nothing has fixed this. I’d appreciate help towards a fix.

Hi Tyno,

This is not the experience we want you to have, let me help you. A few questions: which Nest speakers are we working with? When did your issue begin? Were there any recent changes made?

It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first:

  1. Unplug the power cord of your router, followed by your Nest speakers.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.

Also, you can try connecting your Nest device to another network or frequency like 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz.

Furthermore,  you can try to eliminate network issues. Please try setting up your device using a mobile hotspot. Please note that you will need two mobile devices for this setup (one will serve as a router and the other to be used to set up your Google Home/Nest devices). Once done, check if your device will have the same behavior.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Dan

It’s a Nest Audio. It started when I moved but I’ve moved again and it still doesn’t work normally. I guess it’s related to the internet but not necessarily the router?

Hi Tyno,

Thanks for the additional details. Is there a way where you can try setting up your Google Nest Audio using a different Wi-Fi network so we can isolate if this is an issue with your network?

I have set it up with 2 different networks since I moved but the problem persisted. I probably cant set it up with a different network now.
