Google Home MAC ID

I cannot find the MAC ID of my device.  All instructions I find on the web are incorrect or only give IP address, not MAC ID.  It is not given on the device itself and the app only shows the IP address.  How do I get the MAC ID?

Hi JamesH50,

Thanks for reaching out.

Here's how to get that info:

Google Home app

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. Touch and hold your device's tile.
  3. At the top right, tap Settings Device information.
  4. The MAC address should be listed under “Technical information."

Hope this helps.

Princess

Device information only gives IP address, not MAC ID. Thanks anyway.

Hi JamesH50,

Thanks for trying the steps. Could you please tell us what type of Google speakers are you using? Also, could you please get the cast firmware version of your speaker?

To check the firmware version:

  1. Make sure the mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as the Google Nest or Home device.
  2. Open the Google Home app .
  3. Tap the device card of the preferred speaker or display.
  4. At the top-right, tap Settings Settings and then Device information.
  5. Under Technical information, find Cast firmware:X.XXX.XXXXX.

Looking forward to your response.

Princess

I’ve been able to discover it by pinging it and using the arp command from the Windows command line.
