Google Home Max won't connect to Google Assistant/Google cloud can't connect

I have had a Google Nest Max Hub for about 2 years with my speakers, lights, etc connected to them with no issue.  All of a sudden, my Google Hub works but it won't connect to any of my devices that I have in Google Home App.  I reset my router, Google Hub and Google Home App (Reinstalled App) and i still get the same issue.  Whenever I click on the device in Google Home and go to the "Gear" i get the "Cannot Connect to Google Cloud."  When I factory reset my my Google Home Hub and try to connect to google Assistant I get "Cannot Register, error."  Whatever it is, I cannot connect to my Google Assistant/Cloud which is impacting everything.

Again, I've rebooted my Google Home Device multiple times and made sure it was connected to my wifi (which is working great) and made sure my phone is connected.  No luck.  I've even rebooted the system connected to a hot spot and still got the error (connecting to Google Cloud services) so I know it's not the network.  The device is not working in Google Home App either.

Any advice?  I've tried everything that I can and still no answer.

If Google Assistant isn't working, check your internet connection, check that the device is on the same Wi-Fi network as Google Assistant, and make sure the microphone is turned on. If you still have trouble, restart the Google smart home device and make sure Google Assistant is activated.

Will

Hi Striker8083,

This is not the experience we wanted you to have, let me help you. A few things: aside from the Nest Hub Max, which Nest speakers and smart devices are we working with? When did this start? Were there any recent changes made?

Thank you for doing some troubleshooting steps but, it would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first:

  1. Unplug the power cord of your router followed by your Nest speakers.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.

Once done, kindly double check the account where your devices are on if it’s with a Google account, preferably with a Gmail domain. Open your Google Home app and go to where your account is on the top right.

Also, check your phone’s language if it’s set on US-EN and let me know how it goes.

Thanks for helping, WillJoe123.

Dan

Hi Dan:

I managed to get my friend to come over who is a sales engineer for a tech company and we spent about an 1 hour diagnosing the system to figure out what was occurring.  After testing the network, devices, etc. we found that my Google home account was corrupted.  My friend could change my devices when he added himself to my Google Home but my account was somehow corrupted.  I created a new google account and attached it to my Google Home and it works great now--not ideal--but i don't know what else can be done. Is this something that you've seen before?

Hi Striker8083,

That’s something we haven’t seen before and hats off to you and your friend by sharing your resolution in the Community. Accounts can usually be corrupted by bugs or even viruses which can be hard to detect. Protections are really needed when accessing web browsers and other internet contents.

As we got our resolution here, I'm going to mark this thread as complete. I'll be locking this thread if we won't hear back from you in 24 hrs. Should that happen, feel free to create a new one if you have more questions or have other concerns in the future.

Best,

Dan
