Google Home Mini Speaker doesn't respond verbally to a command re Nedis Kettle

I bought a smart Nedis kettle when our Kogan smart kettle died.  We had some difficulty setting it up as the kettle reverts to 40C setting & we wanted it to always be 100C.  I finally got the Nedis app working, only to discover that Google Home won't show a 'scene' in routines if that Android phone hasn't created the scenario in the Nedis app i.e I set the Nedis scenario on my phone & Google Home allows me to choose that scene in household routines, BUT my husband's Android phone doesn't give him any scene option & he can't make his own kettle scenario as Nedis Smartlife doesn't allow that!  Google doesn't recognise that there is a smart kettle in the home unless he has the Nedis app installed.  I made a household routine & then made a personal routine for my husband with different words so the kettle would heat to the desired temperature.

So the kettle now boils correctly to 100C to voice command, but the Google voice assistant never replies to either command for the kettle!  It replies to any other command & answers questions.

I've uninstalled & reinstalled the Nedis Smartlife app a few times, linked, unlinked & relinked Nedis with Google countless times. I removed my husband's account from Google Home & then reinvited him.  We've done voice matching again. I've checked that the phones & the Google speaker are up to date with drivers & firmware.  I simply don't know what to do next!  The Nedis Support tech said that Google Home Assistant should respond to either voice once I'd set the kettle scenario up in Google, but it doesn't.  The only thing I can think of is my husband has a different Voice Assistant to mine, but I don't see why that would suddenly make both voices go mute for only one device.

Does anyone have any ideas??  🙏  🙏

Hi KrisSw,

Thanks for posting in the Community! Sorry to hear that your husband’s phone assistant isn’t responding to your request to any action related to your new Nedis Kettle. No worries, help is here! Let’s try some troubleshooting steps to Fix issues with “Hey Google”.  Please take a look at the article!

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,
Axel.

Hi AxelD,
Thanks for replying. This is so frustrating.  It's not just my husband's phone, we have a series of issues.  The Google mini speaker replies to every other command he or I give. It is only the command 'Hey Google, turn the kettle on' that it doesn't reply to.  It turns the kettle to the correct temperature but doesn't say it has! We have to visually check the kettle which is very annoying.
Google Home won't show the scene option in Automations on either phone unless the scenario is made on that phone's Nedis Smartlife app. I thought if I made a household routine, it would work for all members of the house, but it doesn't which is why I made a personal routine for my husband on his phone.
We both re-did Voice Match & my husband uninstalled then reinstalled the Google Home app on his phone.  The speaker's microphone is obviously turned on as Google Assistant replies to our questions & commands, other than the kettle!  I have uninstalled, reinstalled, unlinked & relinked dozens of times, but I'll redo it again later today when I can borrow my husband's phone.

Hi KrisSw,

Thanks for your reply! I understand that the Google Assistant is completing actions without confirming completion. Since the troubleshooting steps didn't resolve the issue, please share your feedback to report it. We appreciate your input.

I've devised a workaround by adding an announcement action to the routine that makes the Google Assistant mini-speaker respond to our command to turn the kettle on!  I'm not impressed that I've had to create so many actions to make Google do something it used to do without a problem.
