Google Home Mini drops IP address daily and won't reconnect to network

Unit was working fine, but now periodically (daily) drops IP address connection to Wifi network. In the home app is doesn't show an IP address under device info. It's running 2.57.375114 firmware.

Oddly my router still sees a connection with data traffic to the static IP address I've assigned to the Home Mini MAC address.

Cannot remotely restart the Home Mini, not remotely renew the IP address please - so annoyingly have to hard power cycle unit daily to resolve issue

Hi @Bangers_,

It sounds like your Google Home Mini is experiencing a daily issue where it loses its IP address assignment but still shows some level of connection to your router. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to fix the problem:

1. Router Reboot: A simple reboot of your router can sometimes clear up temporary glitches that might be causing the IP lease issue. Power down your router for 30 seconds, then turn it back on and wait for it to fully boot up. Check if the Google Home Mini reconnects and obtains a new IP address.

3. Update Firmware: Check if there's a newer firmware update available for your Google Home Mini. Though your current version (2.57.375114) might seem recent, there could be bug fixes or stability improvements in a later update. You can usually check for updates through the Google Home app.

4. Network Interference: Although less likely, nearby devices or crowded Wi-Fi channels might cause connection issues. Try moving your Google Home Mini to a different location with less interference, or change the Wi-Fi channel on your router to a less congested one.

5. Factory Reset: If none of the above solutions work, consider resetting your Google Home Mini to factory settings. This will erase all your settings and customizations, but it can also resolve software glitches causing the issue. Remember, after a reset, you'll need to go through the setup process again.

If for some reason you still have the same issue don't hesitate to let us know.

Yeah... It's not a router/wifi issue - my whole house is covered in wifi6 mesh.

Firmware from Google would be nice... But after looking into this there doesn't seem to be a relevant update that works (I'm subscribed to the beta testing early access program)

Reset the unit, which seems to have worked for the time being... But it's been an ongoing and constant issue between 3x google connected devices on my network (1x Home Mini, 1x nest mini, 1x Polk Assist). When I reset the Home Mini, the nest mini dropped off... But then reconnected after a router reset... But then the Polk disconnected and had to be hard power reset... I work in IT and all these devices are configured for their own static IP address based on MAC, but keep losing connection. Currently working so will continue to play the google home wifi connection game and see how we go
