Wrong timezone for nest hub for Kazakhstan

nestuserfromkz

Dear Nest Team,

Please help resolve my issue. Our country has recently (effective Mar 1st, 2024) changed the timezone to GMT+5. Previously this timezone was only used in the Western regions, now it's throughout the whole country. All my other devices eventually got the timezone update except the Nest hub. In order for it to display the correct time, I had to change the Home address to one of the cities in the Western Kazakhstan, but when I ask for the weather forecast it gives me forecast for city that I entered instead of my location.

Any ideas when the tzdata update will be pushed to Nest devices?

Hi nestuserfromkz,

Sorry to hear the situation that you are experiencing with the time zone on your Nest Hub. Help is here!, try these steps in order to get the correct information.

Since Nest Hub uses your device's registered address to set the time zone automatically, here are some steps to ensure it's displaying the correct time:

  • Verify Your Address: Open the Google Home app and check if your current address is accurate. You can edit it if needed.

  • Refresh the Time Zone: Try rebooting your Nest Hub. This can sometimes refresh the connection and update the time zone based on your address.

If you've tried these steps and the time zone is still incorrect, let me know and I can help you explore other options.

Best regards,

Chris
