I am having connection problems when setting up a Google Home Mini.   I have a Google Display and Nest Hello Door bell connected to my Internet without problems.  I have entered set up new device via the Google Home app.   Google home Mini found is now displayed, I then hit yes to Connect. next, I have connected then displayed on the App and did you hear the sound, I then hit Yes,   next, where is the device,  i have selected the location, then connected to WIFI,  i have selected the our Wifi and I then get " connection problem during setup "   I have tried this now five times and still the same issue.    I have also, reset the Google Mini to factory reset.     restarted the Wifi Router but cannot connect

Can someone please help

Thank you

I also have this problem.  I switched my friends modem and now I can't connect him mini at all.  It chimes, I put in the password and then it says:  can't connect at this time.  This and the cbc radio issue is killing me because it is my fault I had to change his things around and I am leaving in five weeks and I have to put things back the way i found it.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for reaching out.

@Bobby76, I appreciate all the details you've shared. Since you've mentioned that you have existing Google speakers set up in your network, can you please state the distance between this Google Home Mini from the router? Let's make sure to set it up near the router first and as soon as you're done, you can move the device to anywhere in the house as long as it can get a good Wi-Fi connection. If this would not work, I suggest you to try rebooting your network by simply unplugging your router for a few minutes to refresh its network settings.

@Medea, sorry to hear about this. Have you already tried to perform a complete reset and tried setting up again? Let's try that first, and while doing the reset, unplug your router for a few minutes to refresh its network settings and also avoid the congestion.

Keep me posted.

Best,

Princess

Yeah, the google home mini is literally less than two feet away and trust me, I have reset the modem and the mini multiple times (I work for rogers and I used to work for hp) and that is the reason I bought the nest.  Nest connects can't get cbc, mini used to connect and did get cbc;  I can't figure it out.

Hi Medea,

I appreciate all the details you've shared. Could you please list down all the Google speakers connected on the same Wi-Fi network?

Lastly, kindly provide the cast firmware version of your Google Home Mini so we can check further.

To check the firmware version:

  1. Make sure the mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as the Google Nest or Home device.
  2. Open the Google Home app .
  3. Tap the device card of the preferred speaker or display.
  4. At the top-right, tap Settings Settings and then Device information.
  5. Under Technical information, find Cast firmware:X.XXX.XXXXX.
