Google Home Nest

I’m wondering why when I’m streaming radio from my device, it seems to pause / stop playing at random intervals.

it may stop half a dozen times in an hour, and other days it will play without stopping for hours.

I think, sometimes when there is a loud bang, or a noise (ie a door closing nearby) it stops streaming.

what can I do to fix this?

Hi SaraSaidWhat,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community.

I know how it feels when something isn’t working as it should, let’s get this resolved. A few things: Which Nest speaker? Is the issue happening when streaming radio only? What is the distance between your Nest speaker and your router?

You can try playing music using YouTube music to isolate the issue, also try to reboot your Nest speaker and see if it will make a difference.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Juni

Hello. Thank you for your response.

this only happens when streaming music from the radio app or from Spotify.

I have a google Nest Hub 2nd Gen

My router is about 4 meters away in the same room.

thanks again.

Hey SaraSaidWhat,

Chiming in, could you try moving your Nest Hub (2nd gen) closer to the router like 3-5 meters away just to check if your device will have the same behavior. If it still the same, please proceed with resetting your device to refresh all the settings.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers,

Muddi

Hi SaraSaidWhat,

How was your device? Have you tried moving your device near the router?

Hi SaraSaidWhat,

Please proceed with resetting your Nest Hub (2nd gen) by pressing and holding both volume buttons together, at the back of the Nest Hub, for about 10 seconds. You'll hear your Google Assistant confirm that it's resetting the Nest Hub.

Cheers,

Muddi
