Google Home and Nest keep playing same Spotify song

Hi, on both my Google Home and the Nest every single time I say "Hey Google play some music from my spotify library" it always plays the same songs in the exact same order, basically the most recent song I've added to my liked list. It's driving me insane. I have to switch to Spotify on my phone and cast my audio to make it stop.

HI @Noëlla_bella

Pretty sure that's just the way Spotify works rather than Google. I do use Spotify regularly through my Nest Audio speakers and if I do not want to specify a particular piece of music I say instead "Hey Google Resume Spotify" and that will just pick up from where it left off.

No that certainly is not it. I have never had this problem. It recently started. It most certainly is a bug.

Hi Noëlla_bella,

This is not the experience we want you to have, let me help you. A few questions: which Nest speakers are we working with? When did your issue begin? Were there any recent changes made?

It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first:

  1. Unplug the power cord of your router, followed by your Nest speakers.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.

Once done, kindly test other music services to see if this issue is isolated or not with Spotify.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks for helping, Kadven!

Best,

Dan
