Hi DanyBoy,

Thanks for visiting.

Sorry to hear about this. Have you already tried performing a complete reset to see if this will fix the issue? Let's go ahead and try that and let me know how it goes by responding to this thread.

Hey DanyBoy,

Thanks for trying. Could you try setting up your Google Home using a mobile hotspot? It's for us to isolate if this is a network related issue and to check if the update will complete using a different network.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Alex

Unfortunately I am not certain how this can be done, because as you plug the device in you get for white dots on the top ( the then disappear) the orange light starts flashing and that's it that's it.

Hey DanyBoy,

We understand. Setting up your Google Home using a mobile hotspot can isolate the issue, if your device is updating and can be completed using your mobile hotspot. Here's the step:

(You would need 2 mobile devices: 1st is for the Google Home app and 2nd will act as a Wi-Fi network using mobile hotspot)

1. Turn on the mobile hotspot of your 2nd mobile device.

2. Reset your Google Home Hub to its default settings.

3. Make sure your 1st device is connected to the mobile hotspot of your 2nd mobile device.

4. Re-run the setup on your Google Home app and choose your mobile hotspot as the network to set it up.

Thanks,

Alex

Hey DanyBoy,

How's it going with your Google Home? Did using a mobile hotspot help your device finish the update?

Keep us posted.

Hello Alex sorry for the delay in replying I have tried alternative WIFI connections x2 and unfortunately still is not responding. Most of the suggestions I have re-tried a few times. Frustratingly I may have to bite the bullet and try and purchase an alternative.
