Google Hub Max no longer initiating group calls

I can call an individual. I can answer group calls. When I try to initiate one I get the response " what group would you like to call" and it shows me the groups I have recently used. I can speak it or touch the group and it imeadiatly asks again "what group would you like to call" I repeat the process then it drops out of group call mode. I have tried a factory reset and no difference. This just started about 2 weeks ago, previously it worked fine and I use it almost everyday for a group or individual call. Any ideas what might be going on?

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I understand you're having trouble creating group calls, and I'm here to help.

 

You've already taken a big step by performing a factory reset. Let's try a few more troubleshooting steps:

 

  • Check that contacts are synced.
  • Check if there is a group created in the Google Meet app.
  • Reboot the speaker or display:
    • Disconnect the power cable from the speaker or display.
    • Reconnect the power cable back into the speaker or display.
  • Reboot router.
  • Try making a group call again.
