Google Mini plays one song and stops

cdrawl

Starting today when I ask my google nest mini to play music through Apple music the device will play one song and stop. I have restart the request, where, again it will stop after one song.

Same issue here- with more than one Mini- started on 2/4/2022 - restarted/rebooted/reset nothing fixes it.

Same issue for me. I've tried unplugging for 1 minute to reboot, I've tried updating the Home app, I've tried uninstalling the Home app, I've unlinked/re-linked Apple Music, I've deleted voice data and retrained my voice, none of that fixed. If I say "Hey Google, play (a specific artist/album)" it will continue to play, but if I say "Hey Google, Play some music" it only plays one song rather than shuffling through all of my Apple Music library like it did for the first month that I owned it. Also, this is happening on my upstairs and downstairs Nest Mini.

Seems like this has been an ongoing issue, and with other music apps such as Spotify.

Same issue with Google Nest Speaker, but only Apple Music. If I use Pandora, music streams continuously.  The issue with stopping after one song with Apple Music is a very recent occurrence for me. I didn't update anything, it just stopped working normally. I haven't found any solutions for this on the web, but since I use Apple Music almost always, this is quite annoying!

I chatted with Google Support yesterday to report the issue after stating I did all the other 'troubleshooting' options - and it was suggested I submit Feedback. "Hey Google provide feedback" -and then state what happens. I did also state other's are posting that they have the same issue and should come here to review. (they was also submitting my chat/ case to the higher up support)

Thanks @jendett72 !
So just to be clear, we're supposed to say that to our speaker - "Hey Google provide feedback (the issue)"? So Google is telling us to tell our broken speakers that they're broken, haha.

Yes - I mean it still works just not they way it should

Thanks for escalating, and easy enough to provide the feedback.

So anyone have any other suggestions? I actually traded my Bose speaker (stupid choice, in hindsight) for this speaker that, like many of you, stops playing after one song. So irritating!!

Other suggestions? not sure- we just gotta get this issue in front of Google to fix it, in the mean time I'm streaming SiriusXM {sigh}

I think I’m having the same issue: Just switched to Apple Music from Spotify. I used to be able to say hey Google play this playlist or play this album from Spotify, And it would and I could even control it from my iPhone. But now none of that happens with Apple Music it’s almost as if it does not want to acknowledge that I have an iPhone or any playlists.

Based on other's its not isolated to Apple and Google Support (who has ghosted me since Monday's interaction) suggested to literally say "hey google provide feedback" and share the issue to the speaker so they can capture reports.

So I just want to Google support as well and after doing the trouble shooting, which including resetting the device and trying YouTube Music, it was suggested that I should see what Apple has to recommend. And if that doesn't work I should get back in touch with Google.

I’ve done all troubleshooting as well. Not only does it occur with my Apple Music, but it is also happening with YouTube music as well…. Seems to me that this is a Google issue that needs to be addressed by google…

I agree- I reached out to support earlier for status of my ticket from Monday- still with the "senior" support team. I said I strongly believe this is a firmware issue with Google not my phone and again repeated to seek out this topic in community, I'm not the only one. Plus the fact that it's all 3 of my Mini's not just one reinforces to me that it is a Google issue not mine.

the issue in that thread did resolve, all though occasionally the assistant will stop talking mid-sentence and I have to ask her to repeat it. Currently my issue is that SiriusXM won't work. I've deleted and reconnected it multiple times and got told "that action isn't available"  so that's a bummer.

Hey jendett72,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble with the station not working as intended. Do you mind me asking if you are trying to play the station on the same speaker? Have you tried a different device to see if that works? Are you showing the account linked in your Home App? Please let me know, so I can look into this further for you.

Best regards,

Jake

I have 3 mini's, all three provide the response of "voice actions are not available for hat app" yes I've confirmed the SiriusXM app is linked, I've unlinked and relinked a number of times

This evening, the command "Hey Google, Play some music" seems to be working correctly. I don't want to speak too soon, but right now it's shuffling my music like it used to.

Mine too…. Let’s hope that it continues to do so… 🤞🏻

Hi VivicaVice,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community.

I wanted to follow up and see if I could be of any help. A few things: is it happening on your Android phone only or on your Nest speaker too? If so, which Nest speakers? If this is happening on your YouTube app only you can go to this link so you can get the proper help as we specialized in Google Nest products.

Keep me posted.

Thanks,

Juni

Hey ash5,

Thanks for posting. Does the music stop when playing through Pandora only or also any other music platforms? Could you reboot your Nest Mini, WiFi router and your phone to clean their link with each other? If you have, try it on an android device as well.

Tell me how it goes.

Best,

Dan

Hey ash5,

To confirm, does it happen on all music services? Let's go ahead and set up your speaker on a mobile hotspot to eliminate network issues. Please note that you will need two mobile devices for this setup (one will serve as a router and the other to be used to set up your Google Nest Mini).

Let us know how it goes.

Cheers,

Muddi

It does happen with all streaming services
