Google Mini tells me to log in every day

My Nest Mini speaker requires me to log in each day.  I've reset it - problem persists. I have other Nest Minis on the network; they all work fine.

Hi, @JohnCB,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I apologize that your Google Nest Mini speaker is requesting you to log in. I'm happy to help you find a solution.

To better assist you, please answer the following questions:

  • Do you receive this message every time you try to log in to the Google Home app?
  • Does the Google Home app ask you to set up the device each time you open it?

If you receive the login message every time:

  1. Reboot your WiFi router.
  2. Force close and reopen the Google Home app.
  3. If force closing doesn't work, uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app.
  4. If it doesn’t work, try logging in to the Google Home app from a different device and adding the Google Nest Minis.

If the Google Home app asks you to set up the device every time:

Please let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Ana

Hi Ana

Thanks. I've worked through each of the steps you suggested; the problem persists.

In answer to your questions:

  • Do you receive this message every time you try to log in to the Google Home app?
    • No: once I set the app up the speaker works perfectly for several hours, but mnever for more than a day.  At some point it will ask me to "Please log in through the Google Home spp"  When I open the app the speaker is listed in the devices page. When I tap on the device name it aasks me "Where is the device?" It then asks for the langage, then tells me I've already set up personalisation for this device.  The device then says "Hi, I'm your Google assistant" and so on - and we're good to go.   ... for an hour or two, then back through the same stuff again.
  • Does the Google Home app ask you to set up the device each time you open it?
    • See above.

Thanks for your interest.

John
