Google Mini tells me to log in every day

Jack2211

I replaced my 3-year-old mini with a brand new one in December  because it suddenly started disconnecting (it would say it wasn’t connected to wifi) and then, after a few weeks of that, it started freezing up entirely and would need a reset every day.

But now the new one has suddenly started disconnecting daily. This time, it says I’m not logged in.  It’s not the wifi signal - it’s strong. Unplugging it doesn’t work - I have to open the app and set it up as a new speaker EVERY DAY.

What’s going on? I had a second mini suddenly stop working in the fall.

Hi Jack2211,

Thanks for bringing this up.

Sorry to hear about what you are experiencing right now with your Google Nest Mini. I'd like to ask a few questions so we can sort this out.

  • How many Google Home/Nest speakers are set up in the same network? How many device are affected?
  • How far is the Google Nest Mini from the router?
  • Are there any changes made on your network before you experienced this?

Let's go ahead and perform a complete reset on your Google Nest Mini and set it up again. This time, let's make sure that it is closer to the router so we can get a better WiFi connection.

Keep me posted by responding to this thread.

Princess

Hi Jack2211,

I appreciate all the details you've shared.

Can you please provide the cast firmware version of your Google Home Mini?

To check the firmware version:

  1. Make sure the mobile device is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as the Google Nest or Home device.
  2. Open the Google Home app .
  3. Tap the device card of the preferred speaker or display.
  4. At the top-right, tap Settings Settings and then Device information.
  5. Under Technical information, find Cast firmware:X.XXX.XXXXX.

Best,

Princess

No. I’ve done that. It couldn’t be closer to the router.

the problem isn’t that it’s not connecting to wifi, the problem is that it keeps signing out.

I’m having the same issues with one of 5 minis ask me to sign in EVERY I was late for work this morning because of it did you find a solution

Hey SxulLxrd,

I'm sorry to hear about what's happening with your Google Home Mini — let's see what's going on.

When did you start experiencing this issue? Were there any recent changes on your set up or network? Can you check your Google Home App feed history to check if there is any recorded activity of your device being unlinked from the Google Home app. Try resetting your Home Mini to its default settings.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Alex
