Hello,
I have my PC connected to the router with an ethernet cable. The PC doesn't have a wireless network adapter. All the google minis and the google hub is connected to the same router through wifi.
Is it possible to cast from the PC or do I need a wifi? I cannot see any devices when I try to cast from the PC. I have tried casting from chrome and spotify.
Any ideas?
Best regards,
Wiggly

I have 2 I would like to connect as just speakers using the audio jacks. It seems without a connection to the internet they are bricks. I had hoped they would stay paired... I'll write something up.

Hi folks,
Thanks for posting and apologies for the late reply. Let's get this sorted out.
@WigglyWinds, can you try to connect your PC directly to the Wi-Fi and check your Chrome browser if you are able to see the Google Nest devices?
@jfii, could you confirm what type of pairing you would like to do with your Google Nest devices?
Keep me posted.
Regards,
Nikki

Hello!
Thank you for your response! I dont have a wireless adapter on my pc so I cannot directly connect to the wifi. But it is connected to the same router with Ethernet cable. Is it still suppose to work?

Hey WigglyWinds,
As long as your Chromecast and computer are connected to the same network you should be able to cast to your Chromecast. Check this steps:
Let us know if that works.
Thanks,
Alex

Hello,
Thank you for your response. The problem is that when I try to cast from Chrome it says "can find no sources"

Hey WigglyWinds,
Thanks for the update. Are you able to cast from your phone to your Home Mini and Nest Hub devices? Make sure that your Chrome browser is updated.
Note: Screen casting or Cast Desktop is NOT supported.
Cheers,
Alex

Sorry I didnt mena to hijack the post.
I am plugging directly using audio input.
For the OP
your router may have a setting that read.
Allow guests to see each other and access my local network turn it on
Another thing to verify if you pc can see the wireless devices is
from a command prompt in your pc (run cmd or window + R type cmd)
type
netsh wlan show all |findstr "name"
do you see any of your speakers

well at least it should show your wifi networks
09-08-2022 12:37 AM
netsh wlan show all | findstr "SSID" should show your speakers
