Google Nest Hub Gen 1 will not start or rest to factory settings

One morning my Google Nest Hub would simply be stuck on the gray screen with the "G" in the middle you see when you first connect the Hub to power. I assume there was a power outage overnight because the time on the oven had been rest. Looking for solutions I found the "click the volume buttons" to reset to factory settings method but this doesn't work either. The hub does go through the 10 second count down but then when it restarts it get's stuck on the same gray screen. Please help.
