Google Nest Hub Max connected to another account

bananamedic

I have owned my Hub max from new. Today (owing to the camera being offline) I disconnected the device from my account and completed a factory rest.

Now when I try to reconnect it I constantly get the error message "Google Nest Hub Max connected to another account".

When I check my Home app, the device is not listed, however, (as I discovered while trying another trouble shoot) when I am in the Home app and I click on my avatar and go to "assistant settings" then "devices" it is still listed. When I click on it, I am just taken back to the Home home screen.

I have tried the following to date:

- Restarted all devices

- Uninstalled home apps

- Factory reset hub max

- restarted wifi

I have tried some of the other solutions on the boards as best I can but some of them are not bringing up the same options (possibly out of date).

Has anyone managed to crack this?

Hi bananamedic,

Thanks for posting — let's get this sorted out.

If you have a home member, your Google Nest Hub may have been linked to them after you reset the device. You can remove it from their account before resetting. Here's how: open the Google Home app > Tap on the device icon > Settings > Remove device > Remove. You can also check under your Google Account's Your devices and unlink it there.

Keep me posted.

Best,
Lovely
