Google Nest Hub shopping list almost unusable

Hi,

For years we have had a variaty of Google Nest products, including a few Nest Hubs around the house. One of the killer features always was the perfect handling of the shopping list. It was truly a great help to, almost anywhere in the house, be able to add something to the shopping list just by doing the "hey google, add <whatever> to the shopping list". Almost never failed, and shopping list was updated.

Over the last few years this has gradually become worse and worse (well for a while after the switch to Google Keep it was actually simply down - we could not add anything). Recently, we are actually able to - sometimes - add things to the list, but it usually requires multiple tries and rewordings.

It should be stated that we are located in Sweden, and there are (obviously, we see now) various translations happening behind the scenes that seem to cause the problems. For simplicity, I will translate our issues to English.
So if we say something like "Add apple juice to the shopping list", the screen will display that exact phrase (so the device picked up the correct words) and one of three things will happen:

  1. "Apple juice" is added to the shopping list. Great!
  2. "To the apple juice" (literally) is added to the shopping list. Weird, but ok!
  3. The device answers with "There is no list called shopping list, do you want me to create one?"

In the third case, which is now frustratingly often, please note the lack of "the shopping list", it is matching the indeterminate noun "shopping list", while (in Swedish) what is available in Google Keep is "The shopping list".
The screen always displays "Add <whatever> to the shopping list" while what reaches Google Keep is not that translation - there seem to be multiple translations happening, and they are not the same.

Sorry for the long text, but had to describe the issue as good as I could. It is sad to see this true "killer use case" for the Nest Hub simply becoming almost useless - we still enjoy some of the other features of it, but I no longer recommend it to others.  😕
