After trying everything including hard restart and restoring to factory settings, the hub will not move past the grey 'G' screen. Is there any solution to this?

Getting issues of grey screen and the 'G' logo as well. This is persisting even after numerous factory resets. Reading threads and internet reviews, this is an ongoing and frequent issue with this device and there seems to be no solution other than factory reset, which has not worked for many people with the same issue. What do we do Google?? What is the fix to your ongoing issue?

I have the exact same issue with my Nest hub. I am guessing it is a bad software update that is causing this. and I am wondering if it is possible to take the device apart and manually flash a new image into the device ? - provided, that a good image can be found somewhere?
