Google Nest Hub2 consistently mishears 'twelve'

Whenever I or my partner give a command including the word 'twelve' the device interprets it as 'two'. This started a couple of days ago and is really annoying. We have to remember to use eleven or thirteen to get an approximation of what we want. What could be causing this?

Me too! Link to video where it doesn’t understand twelve when I ask it to set a timer but understands me when I ask for the definition of twelve.  Video of bug

Not solved……..Good idea to do a video! So ridiculous. I notice you are also U.K. based. Maybe something Google could look into…

Hi everyone,

Thanks for posting—let's get this sorted out. A few questions: have you tried taking any troubleshooting steps? What are those steps? Does asking Google Assistant on your phone to set a 12-minute time have the same behavior?

I’ll look forward to both of your responses.

Regards,
Alex

Hello philbury,

Got it. Let’s try to do some troubleshooting steps.

  • Open the Google Home app > Settings > Google Assistant > Manage all Assistant settings.
  • Tap Languages and choose English US.
  • Force close the Google Home app.
  • Reboot your Google Nest Hub 2nd gen by unplugging its power cord for 2 mins > Command it again to set a 12-minute timer.

Let me know how it goes.

Kind regards,
Alex
