Google Nest Mini says it is not on the same WiFi as my phone and other Google Nest Mini. IT IS!!

Hi,

I have two google nest minis (2nd gen) using an EE broadband router, which used to work just fine for a couple of years (kitchen and sitting room speakers). But recently the kitchen speaker has been having various issues. So I have factory reset the kitchen speaker. Now it says it's on a different wifi. IT IS NOT, they are on the same wifi!

However, one nest is connected via 2.4GHz (on which I can also see my mobile) so that must be the sitting room speaker which is not having any issues. The other speaker is connected via 5GHz channel.

Help! I just want to stream music from Spotify and BBC Sounds

Sal

How did you factory reset your mini?

Google said to turn off the mike, hold finger in middle of speaker. Ignore the warning that says "you are about to factory reset your device". Wait for the tone, then remove finger.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for checking in here, reino4.

Sal321, we appreciate your efforts in taking those steps. Let’s get this sorted out. Have you tried connecting this Google Nest Mini device to both bands? Try to do these steps:

  • Reboot your router for 2 minutes.
  • Forget and reconnect your phone to the Wi-Fi. If your mobile data is on, turn it off in the meantime.
  • Reboot your Google Nest Mini.
  • Force close and reopen the Google Home app, and then try to do the setup once more.

Regards,
Alex
