Google Nest hub 1st Netflix not working

My google best hub 1st gen won’t open it says it can only cast to a tv but I have seen new updates that lets other google nest hubs open on the screen and watch on the screen.

I know how challenging it is when something is not working on your Google Nest Hub (1st gen). Let's try to get to the bottom of this.

 

A few questions:

 

  • When did the issue start?
  • What country are you located in?
  • Is your Netflix account linked on the Google Home app?
  • Are you able to watch movies on the native app?
  • What is the specific command that you are saying, and what's the response of the Nest Hub?

Please make sure that your Netflix account is linked on the Google Home app to be able to watch movies on your Nest Hub. Follow the steps below, or visit this link for more information.

 

  1. Make sure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as your Chromecast, or speaker or display.
  2. Open the Google Home app.
  3. At the top right, tap your account.
  4. Verify that the Google Account shown is the one linked to your Nest speaker or display. To switch accounts, tap another account or Add another account.
  5. Go back to the home screen, and at the top left, tap Add (+) > Video.
  6. If the app requires to be linked, tap Link > Link Account.
  7. Complete the sign in steps.
  8. Note: For Netflix, if you have a personal profile on a Netflix account, you can link your personal profile and set up Voice Match to play content where you left off.
