Google Nest (original Google Hub) always answers over top of other devices

I have a first gen original Google home hub ( before it was ever referred to as Nest). Some months ago, an update rolled out where the Hub no longer recognizes that other devices are answering. They are all on the same Wi-Fi network, and none of the other devices have this problem. The Hub insists on answering even if I'm much closer to any other Google home device. I used to be able to adjust the sensitivity (though it didn't help), and as of recently I can't adjust the "ok, Google" sensitivity on the Hub at all (says it is not supported, though it ABSOLUTELY used to be).

It's extremely frustrating because the Hub is very central in my house, and so just about anything I ask gets answered twice (often speaking over each other), or done twice (playing music, adding items to shopping list, etc.). They are all part of the same house, and I am the only Google account linked to the devices. I've tried removing it from the house and room and re-adding it, but no luck.
