Google Nest speakers keep going offline

I have 2 Google Nest speakers in my living room. Set them up as a stereo pair with the Google Home app. The WiFi network I use comes from a Genexis Modem with 3 TP-Link Deco M5 behind it. This works fine for a few days, but after those few days the Google Nest speakers lose their connection and I have to set them up again in Google Home. What can I do about it? Previously connected in the same setup and no problems. But every time resetting these Google Nest speakers causes a lot of frustration.

Hi FrankOVrielink,

Thanks for reaching out. Thanks for reaching out. Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Nest speaker. Can you tell me what type of speaker you have? how far away are they from the router? Have you noticed any other devices on your network experiencing similar connection drops?

Here are some things you can try:

  • Please make sure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as your speaker or display.
  • Make sure your Nest speakers are running the latest software. Updates often include bug fixes and performance improvements that might address connectivity issues. Check for updates in the Google Home app.
  • If you have many devices on your network, try creating a separate Guest Wi-Fi network for your Nest speakers. This minimizes potential interference from other devices.
  • Reboot your Wi-fi router. Unplug the power source for ~1 minute and plug back in.
  • If none of the above work, consider a factory reset of your Nest speakers as a last resort. This will erase all settings, so back up any important information beforehand.

Hope this information helps.

Cheers,

Jonathan

I have 3 Google Nest speakers at home. 2 of them are linked as a stereo pair and are located in the living room. One works as a mono speaker and is located in a bedroom.

Every time (and often at night), Google Home loses the connection with the 2 speakers in the living room. The Google Home app then says that my girlfriend or I have removed the device, even though we have not. Or Google Home tells you the device is “disconnected” or “offline” in the morning. What could this be? It only occurs with the 2 speakers in the living room. The one speaker in the bedroom remains neatly connected.

I have reset and reconnected the speakers 10 times now, but the problem still occurs. What should I do?
