Google Speakers don't hear my wife's "Hey Google" most of the time

winterwolfes

My wife has to say "Hey Google" several times before any of our speakers will respond to her even if she is standing right in front of it. When she says Hey Google, most times they don't even respond. When they do, they recognize who she is but she has to say Hey Google several times for the speakers to listen to her and activate. We have set up all our lights, some appliances, our grocery list, etc through google assistant, so you can imagine the frustration this causes. Sometimes after she says Hey Google like 4 times without a response, I will then have to say it and give whatever command she was trying to implement for her. We have retrained her voice several times. I also tried removing her from the home and adding her back in but it still didn't help. Any other suggestions are welcome.

I had a similar issue, I turned off the voice recognition stuff and it worked for her.

Hi folks,

Thanks for visiting the Community.

@PlasticRebel, thanks for the steps you suggested.

@winterwolfes, you might want to try the steps suggested above. However if you want to use voice recognition, you can also ask your wife to re-train her voice and see if this will fix the issue.

Here's the steps on how to remove your current voice match:

Remove your Voice Match and Face Match enrollment recordings

  1. On your mobile device, go to My activity.
  2. Tap Menu Menu Other Google activity.
  3. Scroll down to “Voice and Face Match enrollment,” and tap View data.
  4. Tap Delete all enrollments Delete.

Hope this helps.

Best,

Princess

Hi Dan. Please don't lock the thread. I'll try the steps above tomorrow and report back. We did already try removing her from the home and adding her back but that didn't help. I'll try the advice above and report back
