Google assistant NOT sending critical alert when "call my iphone" is used

The command "Call my iPhone" is not playing a sound on my Phone when it's in silent mode. It does contact the phone via a notification.  The documentation/instructions indicate that this feature should work, and I've configured my iPhone and the assistant exactly as instructed. 

The critical alerts are enabled in the Google Home settings itself,  and in the iPhone settings for the Google Home app. I've seen this posted here already with no solution.

To confirm, do you have a Google Home/Nest device or you're using the Google Assistant app? Please note that when critical alert is turned on, it will send a push notification to your phone, emails, or both, they will try to alert you about important events, emergencies, and technical issues.
