Google assistant language - No German?

I have followed instructions for changing my Google assistant language to understand and reply in German as well as english- but German is not in the listed languages.

Does It not support German any longer?

What Nest speaker or display are we working with? Is your Google Home app updated? See the steps below on how to change your Google Assistant’s language:

  1. On your mobile device, open the Google Home app .
  2. Tap Settings and then Google Assistant and then Manage all Assistant settings.
  3. Tap Languages and then Choose languages for speaking to your Assistant and then Select the current language set.
  4. Choose from the list of available languages.
