Very slow detection of the wakeword sometimes > 5 seconds. After that it lights up and works fine. Same thing happening on my gen 1 mini.

Tried rebooting, updating sensitivity. No help

Thanks for following up. This issue seems to have resolved itself a few days after it started. I'm assuming the engineering team pushed an update to the firmware which addressed the issue.

Hey Pk90,

Welcome to the Google Nest Community Forum.

Sorry for the late response here. I know how it feels when you're having issues with your Google Home Mini. A few questions: when did the issue start? How many Google Home/Nest devices do you have? How far is your Home Mini from the router?

Please try these steps below:

  1. Move your Home Mini within 15-20 ft. away from the router to get enough signal from your network.
  2. Reboot your Home Mini and router by disconnecting them from the power source and leave them unplugged for 1 minute. Once done, plug them back one at a time with intervals.
  3. If it's still the same, proceed with resetting your Home Mini. On the bottom of Home Mini, press and hold the factory reset button located below the power cord. Look for a circle etched into the base. After 5 seconds, your device will begin the factory reset process. Continue to hold for about 10 seconds more, until a sound confirms that the device is resetting.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers,

Muddi

Thanks for getting back to me. I've been in discussion with a customer service rep and they recommended the same steps.
I have 1 google home and 2 minis ( all devices 1st gen ) which are exhibiting this problem for the past 15 days or so.
This is very similar to the problem noted here:

I have restarted and reset my devices but they work correctly for about 30 min and then go back to this bad behavior. They are all within 10 feet of my router ( which i have also restarted )

Hey Pk90,

Got it! To eliminate network issues, please try setting up one of your devices using a mobile hotspot. Please note that you will need two mobile devices for this setup (one will serve as a router and the other to be used to set up your Google Home or Mini device).

Cheers,

Muddi

Hey Pk90,

How was your device? Have you had the chance to setup your speaker on a different network?
