Google has been getting so stupid

I thought i was the only one but i see so many people bitching about exact same BS as i am so i just had to create an account in community here to make this post. Ive been using google home devices since they release. Speaker in ewvery room and the home display in living room and well, over the past cpl years i thought it was just me thinking shes become mentally challenged. The price they charge for this crap and it can't even ansewer basic questions. Her most common anser to anything is "I dont know about that" and ewhen she does answer she answers on a random speaker on other side of the home in some room. I will literally have my nose touching the screen in my living room and whisper and next thing i can hear noise from other side of house cuz shes stupid. I ask to turn light off in living room and shell turn the tv off or some light in a nother room on or off. I am really starting to think google is feeding her meth! This is nonsense and at this point I believe all people with these devices should absolutely be refunded. She even tells me she must know my voice for so many things and thats all been set up years ago and well, every month now it seems. All google will say to anyone is "Factory reset the devices" like we all haven't done that for christ sakes!!! ***GOOGLE: Fix this crap or start issuing refunds like if it was a lawsuit which at this point it should be. I fear that when im not home she will lock/unlock my smart locks on my house doors and invite criminals in! I use it away from home often to control my thermostat etc but i havent been lately cuz as i said, shes so dumb she will unlock my doors and turn the lights on for robbers!!!!

In regards to devices changing state in another Room you can adjust the "Hey Google" sensitivity in each speaker's settings.

Enabling the start sound on the speaker would help you to determine whether the correct speaker will be listening to your command.

If you have a Google Nest Hub Max you don't need to always use the wake words...

lol wether sensitivy was at 2000% its not possoble they hear me thru 8 walls, a floor or 2, a flight of stairs etc....thats always googles answer, adjust this, reset that....and from sounds of the millions of comments from a million ppl across a million forums....we all have these issies and its getting worse as time goes on. Ive read many ppls comments exact as mine, we been using it for years no issues...our rooms, floors, and walls have not gotten thinner. The problem is with GOOGLE.. hell, ill be sitting her with tv off, napping in my recliner in dead silence and next thing you know, her imbred ass starts jabbering nonsense, turn tv on or something stupid for no reason.

Sounds like you've made the decision to leave the Google smart home.

Good luck to you.

Hi TechJerm,

Thanks for reaching out to the community! I understand you've noticed a significant decline in your Google Home devices' performance, you're experiencing a range of issues, including inaccurate responses, commands being executed on the wrong devices, and problems with voice recognition. I can imagine how frustrating it might be when some devices don't work as expected. I'm here to help!

To find the best solution, I have some questions for you:

  • Did you get the "I don't know about that" response with all types of requests, or just with certain things like playing music or controlling smart devices?
  • Does the "set up voice match" prompt happen on all your Google Home devices or just one?
  • Have you made any recent changes to your Wi-Fi network or router?

I appreciate your input, @SmartHomeH-TAGS.

Please keep me posted.

Regards,
Juan
