I am playing my Apple Music playlist on my good home speakers. When I play the list as shuffled, it only selects songs that are in the beginning of the playlist. Anyone have any ideas why and how to fix? I have seen similar question posted here but can’t find a definitive answer/solution. Thanks

Hi Alex,
it never played the entire playlist when on shuffle. Command I use is play a playlist…it starts and then I say shuffle. Even saying play playlist shuffled does the same thing…there are hundreds of songs I. The playlist…..shuffle command only picks from the songs early in the playlist…

Hey JRL2302,
Thanks for visiting the Community.
A few questions: was it working before? How many songs do you have on your playlist? Also, what's the exact command you've used and what's the response of your Google Home?
Make sure your Google Home, Apple music and Google Assistant are updated. Is it also happening when you use the same command on the Google Assistant app on your phone? Could you try creating a new playlist to see if that works?
Best,
Alex

Hey JRL2302,
Thanks for letting us know. Have you tried creating a new playlist with fewer songs? Could you try using these commands to see if it works? "OK Google "Play <named playlist>" then "Shuffle <named playlist>". Also, try relinking your Apple Music account.
Cheers,
Alex

So are you suggesting that playlists should be smaller in order for it to work? If it does work that does not solve the issue in fact it makes me create lists that I shouldn’t have to just to make google home work? I did use those exact commands. Maybe I should open a case?
is this a know issue?

Hi JRL2302,
We're sorry for the confusion. Creating another playlist will just help us to dig deeper on what's happening with your device. Also, have you tried resetting your Google Home?
Kind regards,
Alex

Hi JRL2302,
Thanks for trying. No need to reset your other Google Home speakers. To confirm, are you experiencing this issue with all your Google Home speakers? Did you get the same result when creating a new playlist? If so, could you provide us the cast firmware version of your speakers?
Best,
Alex
