Google home mini leds flashing

realjax
Community Member

The last week or so I keep finding (several different) google home minis in my house that are flashing their leds for some dark reason. They never quit doing so until I tell them to stop. Only to see leds flashing again the next day.

What it is this time Google??

Ps. Please refrain from scripted answers like, reboot them, reset to factory defaults and other useless standard replies.

Hi @realjax,

Thanks for posting here in the community. Your Google Nest Minis are flashing without reason. Help's here!

To better understand the situation, I'd like to ask a few questions:

  • How many Nest Mini do you have?
  • When did the inconvenience start?
  • What's the color of the LED light?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
  • Are there any unusual sounds coming from the devices when the lights are flashing?
  • Have you made any changes to your network, devices, or routines recently?

In the meantime, let's check a few things:

  • Relocate Devices: Move the Google Home minis to a different location to see if that helps.
  • Check Connections: Ensure all cables are securely connected to the device and the power outlet.

Keep me posted.

Regards,

Melany

  • How many Nest Mini do you have?

3. all suffer from this problem. 2 older generation, 1 newer.

  • When did the inconvenience start?

2 to 3 weeks ago. All at the same time.

  • What's the color of the LED light?

white. slow flashing. The device get warm too.

  • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

restarting

  • Are there any unusual sounds coming from the devices when the lights are flashing?

nope

  • Have you made any changes to your network, devices, or routines recently?

nope

relocating does not help. It is not a network problem.

And regarding the cables.. You know what? That's it.. Turns out all three cables wiggled themselves free at the same time!

Sounds silly huh!! that is because it is. Cables are and where just fine.

It is just the next problem that occurs ( and not even for the first time, this happened before) with those nest devices. Im getting fed up with being googles beta tester.
