Google home still playing old deleted announcements

Hi,

We've always been a fan of time triggered announcements on school mornings to help the kids stay on track getting ready for school. A few weeks ago I deleted a couple of them and replaced them with new ones - and everything was fine up until around when daylight savings ended, and the old deleted announcements came back and they still haven't left. So now, every school morning, we have both the new and deleted announcements calling out to the kids and I'm not sure how to make it stop. I assumed it was a glitch that would fix itself eventually, but it's been over a couple of weeks now and I don't think they're going anywhere.

The announcements are scheduled to play on multiple speakers/displays throughout the house, so I can be certain that it's not just one device having an issue. The issue has to be within my google home app somewhere but I've scrolled through looking for the deleted ones so many times - across mine and everyone else's google logins in the house - but can't find them to try deleting them again? Any suggestions? I'm trying to avoid deleting and reinstalling the app because we have heaps of these automations keeping our life on track and it's a real pain adding them all back in again

Hi angebomb,

Thanks for posting. Sorry to hear about this situation with your automation feature. No worries, help's here! I understand that resetting all your devices would be inconvenient. However, if the automation issue persists across all speakers, here are some troubleshooting steps:

  1. Remove all the speakers from the Google Home App.
  2. Perform a Factory Reset on each speaker.
  3. Uninstall the Google Home App from your phone.
  4. Restart your phone.
  5. Reinstall the Google Home App
  6. Set up all the speakers again in the app.

Please try these steps and let me know how that works.

Regards,

Axel.
