Trying to reset hub with google home after mistakenly factory reset router. Now hub says its connecting but, google home says to connect to same network that it’s already connected to. Numerous reboots to all systems has failed to solve problem. Also unable to connect to chromecast. I have reset network router online numerous times, changed passwords, done hard resets of all devices. Can anyone help? I have limited tech knowledge and will only understand basic tech language. Please help.

Solution found. After the reset of router it isolated my devices, so we had to turn of isolation in advanced settings on 192.168.1.1. That’s it, just one little toggle.
Thanks for your help.

Hey so if you factory reset your router you will need to do the same for the Nest Hub to get it to connect again,
On the back of Nest Hub, press and hold both volume buttons together for about 10 seconds. Your Nest Hub will let you know that it's resetting. From there you just need to set it back up in the Google home app, and you will be good to go!

Thanks so much for replying. I have factory reset my hub. When I use google home to connect it responds with 1 of 2 things. 1. Enable access local network ( it is enabled) or 2. Please connect to “wifi”. It is already connected to the same network, one that I chose from the list on setup. Don’t know what else I can do. 😞

After the factory reset you need to remove the old hub from your Google home and re add it , sorry if I wasn't clear about that.

Thanks for your help but unfortunately still can’t access. I have deleted or factory reset everything possible but still no good. I have a computer tech working on a solution but he isn’t able to solve either. I don’t have a router with 5g so also can’t try another bandwidth. I appreciate your effort very much . I’ll keep trying and will come back if I find out what the cause is.

Hey there,
Were you able to figure out those connection issues?
Just checking up,

Hi Jeran, thanks so much for checking in. I was not able to find a fix for this problem. I can stream to my ipad but still unable to get ipad to connect to Google hub or to Chromecast. I have reset everything back to factory settings, enabled access to local area network, checked privacy settings, changed passwords, visited 192.168.1.1 to try to find fix, have contacted 2 computer techs with no luck. Have another tech coming today. Both Google hub & chromecast tell me that I need to check privacy settings and enable access local network or that I need to connect to my wifi, but it’s already set to the correct wifi. Aaarrgh! I will let you know what happens today, hopefully he will find a solution. 🤞
