Google mini doesn't stop when told

I use a command to play rainsounds. In the past it would stop after an hour. A year ago that stopped working. Oké we found a work around. I have a second action every night at one o'clock that tells the mini to stop. Not elegant but it worked.

And now since a week or so, again the rain sounds don't stop. I have not changed anything. So what has changed on google? I am in the Netherlands, so I can't use scripts. Google Bard suggests setting a timer, but in my google home app there is not an option to set a timer. I have updatet to the newest version. [it's very frustrating having a dummed down version of Google Home!]

Hi EstherBro,

Thanks for posting in the Community.

We're sorry to hear about this experience. Since you haven't change any settings on your Google Nest speakers, could you tell us what commands you have used when playing rain sounds? Also, what's your device's cast firmware version?

Check the firmware version of your speaker or display

To check which firmware version you're on, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. Tap your device's tile.
  3. Tap Settings and then Device information.
  4. Under "Technical information," check for Cast firmware: "X.XXX.XXXXX." If the device is on Fuchsia, check for System firmware version: "X.XXXXXXXX.X.XXXXXXX".

We'd like to check further what's causing this to happen.

Keep me posted.

Best,

Princess
