Google mini gen 2 not skipping songs on youtube music normal

Hi, when I play music from youtube music normal, and ask it to skip, it either plays the same song or a message to try again later. This has only been happening the last week.

I have factory reset the speaker andre-started the router but this has not resolved the issue.

The router does not have IPv6

I have three mini Gen 2 speakers and this happens on all of them, I have currently remove two of the speakers to ensure this wasnt an issue.

Has something changed in the last firmware update?

It's pretty strange to experience that especially when playing music. Is it only happening when you use YouTube Music? How about other music services or when playing radio, do you also get the same error? Kindly provide all the cast firmware versions of your Google Nest speakers so we can investigate this further.

 

Check the firmware version of your speaker or display

To check which firmware version you're on, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. Tap your device's tile.
  3. Tap Settings and then Device information.
  4. Under "Technical information," check for Cast firmware: "X.XXX.XXXXX." If the device is on Fuchsia, check for System firmware version: "X.XXXXXXXX.X.XXXXXXX".

Check the version on your Nest display

  1.  Swipe up from the bottom of the display screen.
  2. Tap Settings and then About device. You should find your "Cast firmware version."
    • For Nest Hub (1st gen) and Nest Hub Max: If “Fuchsia Version” is also listed, this means your device runs Fuchsia.

Hi,

Free to air radio stations play ok, I think YouTube is the only source we use where we can skip to the next song.

The Cast firmware is 2.57.375114
