Google nest Hub showing videos even when videos are blocked

Hi all 

Wondering if anyone else is having this problem? I don’t want my kids watching videos, especially YouTube, on our next hub. We use the hub for music, our doorbell and cameras. I have always had our 3x best hub devices set to “block all videos” and restricting the music to non-explicit. 

The other day I see my kids watching videos on the hub! I went to my google home app and checked the digital and wellbeing settings. Everything is still set to blocked for videos. I’ve tried hard resetting, turning on and off the features etc to no avail. 

I feel this is a software bug? Please help fix this, Google!!

To help me find the best solution, I'll need to ask you a few questions:

• Can you confirm the exact model of your Google Nest Hub devices (e.g., Nest Hub 2nd Gen, Nest Hub Max)?
• Does this issue occur on all three of your Google Nest Hub devices, or just one, or some of them?
• When you say "watching videos," are these videos from YouTube specifically or other video sources as well (e.g., news clips, Google Photos, etc.)?
• Do the videos start automatically, or do your kids have to ask for them or select them from a suggested list?
• Are your children's accounts linked to the Google Nest Hub devices, and if so, are they supervised accounts (e.g., Family Link)?
• If you ask the Google Nest Hub to play a video (e.g., "Hey Google, play [video name] on YouTube"), what happens? Does it play, or does it correctly state that videos are blocked?

I have the same issue. If I say “play a YouTube video” it wont let me, as expected. But if I say show me YouTube videos, I can watch whatever I want. It seems to be only restricting when saying “play” but if I ask it to show me, then tap on one it plays it. Pretty weak filtering, if you ask me.

If you say "Hey Google, show me videos" it plays whatever. I tried to lock mine down and low and behold now I'm picking it uo because of the workaround. I have YouTube blocked but they get around it. Fix it Google!!
