Google nest hub max off camera not available , why?

I have two google nest hub max in my home and the cameras have both been working fine for a year now. I use them to monitor my kids while they baby sit and while we are out of town for security. Now for some reason they both say “the camera is off line” and I cannot turn the camera on. The other features still work but not as good as they use to. What is going on? I’ve done every trouble shooting steps available and none are successful. Hopefully google does something about this

Hi Seabass,

Thanks for reaching out to the community! I'm sorry to hear that the cameras of your Nest Hub Max are showing offline. I'd be happy to help.

To better assist you, please provide the following information:

  • Did the built-in Nest Cam work correctly before this inconvenience?
  • Have you tried factory resetting your Nest Hub Max since the camera went offline? If so, were you able to set up the built-in camera again afterward?
  • What LED lights are currently visible on the Nest Hub Max?
  • When attempting to stream the built-in Nest Cam, do you receive any error messages on the Nest Hub Max, Home app, Google Home for web, or Nest app?
  • What is the current software version of the Google Home app?
  • What is the firmware version of your Nest Hub Max?
  • Does the built-in Nest Cam function correctly with the Nest app and Google Meet video calls?

In the meantime, I recommend the following:

  • Ensure you have the latest versions of the Google Home app and mobile software.
  • Verify that Home monitoring features are enabled in the Google Home app and not automatically turning off.
  • Confirm that the Nest Hub Max is not in Privacy mode (OFF). For more information, visit: Google Nest Hub Max LED light and camera states.

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Jenniffer
