Google nest mini 2 unresponsive

davidshen84

Hi,

My nest mini 2 suddenly becomes unresponsive. I tried to unplug the power and plug it in again many times. The lights blink for a while and look like it is starting, then go off. After that, the device is completely unresponsive to any action. I cannot even do a factory reset.

The device was purchased in Dec. 2019. I wonder if I can request a replacement.

Thanks

There are two methods you can try to reset it. Let us know if this helps?

Method 1
  1. On the side of your device, switch the mic off. The lights will turn orange.
  2. Press and hold the centre of the Nest Mini, where the lights are on top.
  3. After five seconds, your device will begin the factory reset process.
  4. Continue to hold for about 10 seconds more, until a sound confirms that the device is resetting.
Method 2
  1. Unplug the power cord from your speaker, wait 10 seconds, then plug it back in and wait until all 4 LED lights on top illuminate.
  2. Repeat step 1 ten more times (total of 11 times).
  3. After plugging your speaker back in the final time, you'll need to wait a few moments for the device to reset. It will announce "Welcome to Google Home. To get started, download the Google Home app on a phone or tablet" to let you know that it’s ready for setup.
