My Google nest mini is not connecting to wifi. The wifi shows locked and after choosing to connect, it shows "cannot communicate with the speaker". Anyone knows solution?

Hey JoshuaJose,

Thanks for posting, and apologies for the delayed response. I know how it feels when your Google Nest Mini is not connecting to your network. A few questions - is this a first time setup or the device has been connected to the same network before? What type of network connection do you have (Public or Private network)? Have you tried using a different phone/tablet for setup?

Below are additional steps that you can try:

  1. Make sure that mobile data on your phone is turn off.

  2. Reboot your Google Nest Mini and router by disconnecting them from the power source and leave them unplugged for 1 minute. Once done, plug them back one at a time with intervals.

  3. Turn Wi-Fi on and off on the mobile setup device.

  4. If you have a dual-band router, try setting up your speaker or display on both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.

Please note that your speaker is not compatible with public Wi-Fi networks such as business networks, shared apartment networks, school dorm networks, school networks, and mobile hotspots or pocket Wi-Fi devices.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers,

Muddi
