Hi. Does Google Nest Voice commands and

the info service etc work in West Africa Like Nigeria Ghana Cotonou? Like if I were to ask the weather or ask it to play music ?

Hi Kayode,

Thanks for posting your question here in our Nest Community.

If the country or region is not an official supported one, your results may be poor.  Services and devices may not work at all. I hope that somebody from West Africa can chime in here with any workarounds and let you know how things work for them.

Officially though, not supported.

Tks for the reply. It’s working as mesh wifi to cover the house but the speaker etc does not. And I wish Google ppl could say something like it works in West Africa or not !!

Hi, Kayode.

Device compatibility does vary country by country. You would always need to check to see what works in a specific country, as sometimes it may be officially supported in one country, but not a neighboring one. This link will give you a look at support by device for each country: https://bit.ly/2WWzb3T

As JillG mentioned, unsupported countries might have varying levels of functionality, but usually Assistant will not work well in an unsupported country. Take a look at the list I posted above and if your country is not supported, I would expect diminished performance, especially from Assistant (if it works at all).

Thanks.

Hi, Kayode.

I just wanted to follow up and see if you needed anything else here or if we were able to answer everything for you. If you still need support, just let me know.

Thanks.
