Google nests won’t play different music

I’ve today reset my nest speaker and the screen in order for Spotify premium to be picked up as linked as it wasn’t when I upgraded yesterday. Now when I ask the bedroom screen nest to play music it stops the music on the speaker in the living room, which it never used to do. I could always play music on the living room speaker and then my partner play different music on the screen in the bedroom but now if I ask to play music it stops hers and if she asks to play music it stops mine. I’ve tried to sort this issue out by going online and now I’m at the point I want to throw them out of a window. Please somebody help me.

Hi @MarkLFC85!

Thanks for posting in the community.
I’m sorry for the inconvenience that you’ve been experiencing with your Nest speakers when trying to play different music using your Spotify Premium account. I can see that after you upgraded to Spotify Premium and added the devices back to the account, you were not able to play different content in the speakers; you asked to play some music in one of the speakers, and the other speaker that was playing different music stopped playing that music. No worries, help is here.

As now you are a Spotify Premium member, you will notice that you can only play music on one device at a time. If you want to be able to play different music on the other speaker while you are already playing some music in one speaker, you can try to use other music services in the other speaker. You can use voice commands and be specific about which device you want to hear the music on.

For further information, you can check the next article: Listen to music on Google Nest speakers and displays

If you have any other questions, you can keep posting.

Regards,

Daniel.
