Google products so frustrating!

when I ask Google to play some thing on Sirius XM it says “voice actions are not available for the app.” My SiriusXM account is linked to my Google account I have tried unlinking it, adding it back, and I still get the message. This is a new problem in the last couple weeks. I looked through some other users with the same problem and the only fix was to cast the music to the speaker which is a workaround I agree, but it’s not ideal as I often using my phone for something else and I don’t want to be casting from my phone. Thanks!

I can only believe that there is an issue with Nes Mini connection with the google cloud backend. For the last 2-3 weeks my google nest mini has gone crazy. It can't process the most simple commands and fails 95%. Ok google play Prolifia. "Sorry something went wrong". No kidding!

Google, what's going on here.

Hi folks,

@Robin94022, @LBET, I know exactly how it feels if something’s not working as it should be. Let’s take a look at it.

Does this only happen on Sirius XM or also to any other music platforms? Could you specify which are working and not so that we can narrow things down? Also, aside from the Google Nest Mini, do you notice it happening on other Nest devices? If yes, what are those devices?

Since all these are connected through Wi-Fi, let’s start here by doing a sequential reboot with your Wi-Fi router followed by your Nest devices. Restarting your phone might also help.

Keep me posted.

Best,

Dan

Hi Dan, thanks for your interest. In my situation it happens with any and all voice commands. A sequential reboot only helps for a short period of time and then come the excuses. Something went wrong, I didn't get that, etc….

Being a bit of mobile application development PO kind of guy, I'm wondering why the need for a cell phone restart and, indeed, what role my cell phone has in the call flow/work flow starting with "Ok Google". Surly the system would still work if my phone was off?

Hi LBET,

Thanks for the additional info and apologies for any confusion. Have you already tried performing a complete reset on your Google Nest speakers? Also, does it happen on all of your speakers set up in your home network? We'd like to know more of your device's setup so we can check further what's causing this to happen.

Keep us posted.

Best,

Princess

Hi Princess,

Thanks for your interest. A complete reset, using the little button underneath the device, has been done twice. Each time the speaker would boot up happily and start responding to voice commands. Typically wihtin an hour the speaker will be in capable of executing voice commands. Instead it responds with, "There was a glitch please try again in a few seconds" or "Something went wrong". During this time the 4 LED lights are on and solid white (no flashing or chasing).

At this point I only have 1 speaker at home so this is the only device avaiable to me.

Thanks.

P.S. I'm using a Hitron WiFi Gateway CODA-4680 for the cable modem.

Hi LBET,

Chiming in, we'd love to further investigate what you're experiencing with your Nest Mini. Please send us a video replicating the issue. On the video, show us what's happening when you plug the device and when you try to reset it.

Keep us posted.

Cheers,

Muddi
