Googled nest not activating a set alarm even though accepting it as a request

My Google nest has recently stopped activating my daily alarm after working perfectly for years. It accepts the request for daily alarm but then nothing! However, if I request a short 15min alarm in the same day, then it works. HELP, I’ve been late for work two days running now………….

Sorry to hear about this experience. Before we try some steps, a few things I'd like to ask:

 

  • When did you first notice this change?
  • Have you made any changes to the settings of the Google Home app recently?
  • Are there other home members linked to your Google Nest speakers that might have made some changes on the Home app?
  • What type of alarm are you using? Is it set under routines?

We'd love to know more details so we can check what troubleshooting steps are best to try to resolve this. Keep me posted!

Hi Princess. Thank you for your response. The fault was intermittent at first, worked one day then didn’t the next. I have not altered any settings on either the 3 individual Google appliances or the app. I tried switching switching off the mini nest - which is the troublemaker - no good. So then I disconnected all three which includes the home hub, reconnected and then set my usual instruction on my bedroom speaker for a daily wake up alarm - not under routines. 

It has worked! Well, at least for the last two days - hope I’m not tempting fate………….
