Goole Home Max camera doesn't work

Rabinnh

If I remove it from my home, perform a full reset, and then add it back, it will work for a few minutes.  I've removed all devices (and I have 20) and done the same.  All others work, but not the Hub camera.  After a few minutes in the Google Home app I get "camera is not available".  In the Nest app it just spins forever without feedback.

We got the product during Covid for family calls with Google Duo.  Now it's useless for that purpose.  I'd blame Google Meet, but since the camera doesn't even work with Nest Aware or Live that's not the issue.

The most frustrating part of this is that I'm not alone.  A casual search will reveal that it appears that this is a widespread issue that Google has not acknowledged.

Some have said that the issue is if you get a Nest Battery doorbell there is an incomaptibility.  That might apply to me, but where does that leave me?  I need both.

It's not my network.  I have 1GB fiber and my Pixel 6 gets over 400Mbps standing next to the hub.  I can even stream high definition movies to my basement over Wifi.

As I've said, I've tried every "fix" offered in other threads, sometimes at the cost of a great amount of time, given the number of devices.

But Google, you have failed me.  Is it time for Alexa, Bing, and an iPhone?

Hi Rabinnh,

Thanks for posting and for being a step ahead of us. That certainly hasn’t been easy for you. Let’s check what’s going on. A few questions: What LED lights appear on the Nest Hub Max?  What’s the firmware version? What’s the app version of the Home app? Also, In the Home app, check if Home monitoring features are turned on.

I look forward to your response.

Regards,

Juni

The camera light will come on but if you try to access the live feed in either the nest app or the home app, you'll just get a spinning cursor forever.

Software version is 50.26.1.2.493473605

Chromecast version is 1.67.330920

What I'd really like from Google is some testing with a nest hub max and a nest battery doorbell. That seems to be the combination that has issues. But today there's been no response.
