Gray rectangle on Nest hub Home Screen

My Nest Hub shows this greyish overlay on my Home Screen. How can this be repaired?

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community.

 

This is not the experience that we wanted you to have, let me help you out. A few things: when did the behavior start? Was your Nest Hub dropped or knocked over? Is your Nest Hub still working? You can do a factory data reset to put it back to its default setting. Once done, observe if this will make a difference on the screen. Check the instructions below.

 

Here’s how to do the reset,  press and hold the volume up and down button located at the back of your Google Nest Hub together for about 10 seconds. You'll hear your Google Assistant confirm that it's resetting your Google Nest Hub.

Thanks for replying. Here are the answers to your questions:

The issue began about 2 weeks ago.

 

The Nest Hub was not knocked over or damaged.

It does still work other than the issues with the display.

I have done a factory reset and the issue persists with no change.
