Home Minl's constantly playing incorrect playlists from Spotify

Hi everyone.  I have various generation Home Mini's in just about every room in my house.  Every one of them has started to play  almost random strange playlists when I request specific personal playlists:  eg   I ask for 'Tony's Playlist' (which has worked for years) I get 'This is Tony' a playlist of music that is nowhere near my tastes.  The same is happening on other playlists.  I tried changing my playlist's names to avoid possible confusion but alI I get are other Spotify selections with vaguely similar sounding names.  I ask for 'Cheese Selection I get 'Cheese Control' etc etc.  This happens to all of my playlists.  I have reset the Mini's, refreshed my voice recognition, refreshed my Spotify account and confirmed they are linked.  The only way I can get to my playlists is to select Spotify on my phone/tablet/pc then cast to the speakers which is a bit of a faff.  Any ideas please?

Hello  teebee,

Thanks for posting in the community forum. I'm sorry to hear that most of your Google Nest Minis are playing the incorrect Spotify playlist. So don't worry; let's explore some tips to get it working smoothly again.

I appreciate that you have taken action by performing the troubleshooting steps above. So try to do these recommendations, and please answer some questions.

  • Do you have Spotify Premium?
  • Do you experience the same behavior when requesting another song or artist?
  • Rephrase the commands that you use to request your playlist, for example, "play <playlist name> on Spotify."
  • Check that your mobile device and Google Home share the same Google account.
  • Verity correct default music setup
  1. Open the Google Home app. Google Home app
  2. In the upper right corner of the Home screen, tap Account.
  3. Make sure that the Google Account listed is the one linked to your device. To switch accounts, select the alternate email address, if available.
  4. Tap Settings Settings and then Services and then Music.
  5. To choose your default service, tap the linked music service, then tap the radio button to the right of the service.

Let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Daniel
