Home Nest Set up

Hi All,

I recently bought Nest Hub Max & Nest Hub. I already have nest minis & android TV besides some lighting other smart things.

Earlier all these things were working with my personal email Id. However, I would like to now change the set up at least of the display Google devices to my newly generic home email.

1. Android TV -  You tube should be generic home email for kids & younger kids.

2. Max Diaplsys should be generic as well.

Issues that I'm facing are:

1.  Google photos: Generic account won't have my photos album, so a personalised photo frame will not work.

2. Du0: Calls from Duo on nest display devices will not work as no phone # is associated with it.

Did anyone else have those issues & how to get around them? Is it generally a good idea to create a generic email for households? If yes, what's the best way.

Thanks

You will be better off setting up supervised accounts for the kids, and adding them to the devices. That way you can control what they are allowed to see by age rating, and it won't get logged to your account that you like "Peppa Pig" videos. BUT, and this could be big they will not have access to Youtube Music at all. Spotify will work for them.

Thanks for your reply. With supervised accounts, they will have to select their account every time they use the nest display device or my TV. Also with those accounts, how will the DUO calling work?

You need to turn on voice match for their accounts and it will select them automatically. Duo will only work for the accounts with phone numbers. Again it will be recognized by voice match.
