Home and Home Mini setup problems

I'm about ready to ditch my Google devices. First my Home Nest died showing only a blank screen with fine black vertical lines on the left hand side, then when I tried to reinstall my Google Home (the one with the sloping top) I'd get through the whole instalation process and oy would say "There was a problem setting up your Google Home" or something to that effect. I eventually got it to complete the process after many cold reboots and ity said Goofle Home was ready and presented a screen saying to say "OK Google" with another instruction, like "play music" or "tell me a joke". After doing that there is about 10 seconds of silence then it says "Your Google Home is not set up yet. To get started download the Google Home app"

The Google Home MIni has done exactly the same, firstly saying there was a problem then after saying it was succssfully set up, it says it wasn't and to download the Google Home app.

I have removed and reinstalled both devices, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Home app but I'm left with what is now appearing to be electronic junk.  Please help.

I've tried again to setup both devices and they've gone back to saying "There was a problem ...."

Try this - I have a Samsung phone and an IPad.  When I use the IPad to set something up, it chokes and yes I have spent time doing this.  When I use the phone it takes awhile  but it works.  Start playing with your wireless.  Meaning the devices at least the cameras can go 5G or 2.4G.  Your router should be able to do both.  Play with that and see if that helps.  T.
